Glenturret is officially the oldest whisky distillery still in operation in Scotland, Crieff, Perthshire.
In 1875, the distillery was taken over by Thomas Stewart and changed from “Hosh Distillery” to the name “Glenturret”.
Glenturret Distillery prides itself on using traditional methods of whiskey making, including floor malting, where the barley is turned by hand to ensure even germination, and using the same water source that has been used for centuries.
This whiskey is aged in Spanish oak sherry casks, which give the whiskey rich and fruity flavors.
The Glenturret Sherry Cask Edition is an unaged whisky, which means that it has no age statement on the label. However, it is matured for at least 12 years and is bottled at 43% ABV.
