Intense violet red in appearance. Complex on the nose, with pronounced black berries, plum jam and balsam notes. Fresh and juicy in the mouth, with an elegant, lingering finish.
This wine is made with 100% Malbec grapes sourced from old parcels of our estates.
Grapes were handpicked and transported in 400-kg bins; clusters were then selected and destemmed.
The must was cold macerated at 8ºC-10 °C for 4-6 days.
Vinification was done in 7,000-litre foudres and stainless steel tanks. Fermentation was temperature controlled at 28ºC-29°C, partially with selected dry yeasts and
partially with wild yeasts. During fermentation we employed remontage, delestage and pigéage. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine macerated an additional 10-12
days, after which it was devatted and transferred to oak barrels for malolactic fermentation. After six months, a blend of the variously processed wines was made.
Total time in French oak was 14 months.
