Vineyards: Handpicked 100% Tempranillo grapes from 80 years old 4 selected vineyard located in the Sonsierra region, at the heart of Rioja Alta.
Winemaking: Alcoholic fermentation is achieved using a short maceration with regular pumping over.
Aging: On 15 October the resulting “free-run” wine was transferred, filling 65 new French oak barrerls from 13 carefully chosen separate cooperages. The goal was to achieve the perfect blend to ensure malolactic fermentation in contact with the less. 17 months latter, PERFUME DE SONSIERRA 2014 was bottled to continue its ‘ageing’ process in the bottle.
Tasting notes: This intense cherry-red wine boasts powerful aromas of liquorice, blackberry, redcurrant, caramel, mocha and a touch of mint. In the mouth it is full-bodied, strong and exuberant, offering a feast for the senses that lasts long in the memory.
