This rum takes its name from a sailing ship named ‘Kirk and Sweeney’ which served as a smuggling ship for rum between the Caribbean and the northeast of the USA in the early days of prohibition.
On the bottle is an imprint of the ships’ usual smuggling routes.
Handcrafted in the Dominican Republic, this rum adheres to the very strict regulations to be called “Dominican Rum”. The process begins with hand-harvested, high-quality and pure sugar cane. The by-product of the sugar cane, “Blackstrap Molasses”, is then carefully fermented and distilled.
Aged in American and French oak barrels, this is a rum worth pursuing.
