Don Papa, one of the lesser known heroes of the Philippine Revolution. A foreman on a sugar cane plantation, he joined the fight for his country’s independence. He became the leader of his countrymen in driving the conquerors from his beloved land.
Don Papa hails from the island of Negros in the Philippine archipelago. This exceptional spirit pays tribute to the heroes of the revolution. It is refined from high-quality sugar cane, which grows on extremely fertile volcanic soils.
Masskara was inspired by the fanatical Masskara Festival in Manila. It was distilled with calamansi – the Philippine calamondino orange – to bring out distinctive citrus notes. Honey was added to sweeten the senses and Siling Labuyo for a touch of warmth and spice.
